The focus of my practice is estate planning and administration. I have helped countless clients create and implement plans to manage, preserve and transfer their assets. I am a Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate law.
I graduated from N.C. State University in 1995 with a B.S. in Natural Resources, and in 1998 with a Master of Forestry. After working as a forester for several years, I decided to go to law school at Campbell University. While in law school, I was the Managing Editor of the Campbell Law Review. I graduated from Campbell in 2005.
From 2005 until 2011, I practiced with a mid-sized law firm, primarily handling civil litigation. Over time, the focus of my practice shifted from representing large corporations and municipalities to representing individuals. I left in 2011 to start a solo practice where I could concentrate on meeting the needs of individuals and families.
I have a Martindale-Hubbell rating of AV-Preeminent. I was included in the N.C. Super Lawyers list for Estate Planning and Probate for the years 2019-2026, and in Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite for Tax & Estate Planning for 2019 and from 2023-2026.
I am a Registered Forester in North Carolina, a Certified Forester, and a full member of the Association of Consulting Foresters. I regularly speak about legal issues affecting forestry and agriculture. I am a member of the N.C. Bar Association, the Wilson County Bar Association, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the American Agricultural Law Association, and the Society of American Foresters.
